God created the physical world and called it "very good" (Genesis 1:31). Heavenly Father, I come before You with my physical body — this body that You created, that You know intimately, that You called good. Right now it is not well. There is pain here, or illness, or a condition that my doctors are treating and that medicine has not yet resolved. I bring it to You now.
You are the Maker of this body. You know every cell, every organ, every system. You designed the immune system that is meant to protect me, the nervous system that carries signals throughout me, the intricate chemistry that keeps everything in balance. You understand my physical condition with a comprehensiveness that no physician can match. So I bring this specific need to You: [name your condition or pain specifically].
Lord, Your Word tells me that You heal all my diseases — every disease, not some (Psalm 103:3). Your Word says that by the wounds of Jesus I am healed (1 Peter 2:24). Your Word says that the prayer of faith will make the sick person well (James 5:15). I stand on these promises now and ask You to fulfill them in my body.
Touch the specific places of sickness and pain. Let Your healing power flow through every affected cell and tissue. Where there is inflammation, bring Your peace. Where there is malfunction, bring restoration. Where there is pain, bring Your merciful relief. Let the treatments I am receiving work effectively, guided by Your wisdom. Let my body respond to care and recover more quickly and completely than the medical prognosis suggests.
Lord, I also pray for the doctors, nurses, and medical professionals who care for me. Give them insight beyond their training. Let them notice what matters. Guide their decisions. Protect me from complications. And let every appointment, every procedure, every medication be undergirded by Your healing grace.
I thank You that Your power has not diminished. The same God who healed the blind, the lame, and the leper through Jesus is the same God I pray to today. I hold on to that. Heal me, Lord, for Your glory and for my good. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
