"My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord."Psalm 84:2
Why Pray the Psalms?
The Psalms cover every human emotion — joy, grief, fear, anger, confusion, wonder, guilt, and hope. They give language to what we feel but cannot express. When you don't know what to pray, praying a Psalm is praying Scripture back to the One who inspired it.
Psalm 23 — When You Need Peace
🙏 Prayer
Lord, You are my shepherd. I choose to trust that I shall not want — even when it feels like I do. Lead me to the green pastures and the quiet waters. Restore my soul today. Walk with me through the dark valley — I will not fear, because You are with me. Let goodness and mercy follow me all the days of my life. Amen.
Psalm 51 — When You Need Forgiveness
🙏 Prayer
God, have mercy on me — according to Your unfailing love, according to Your great compassion. Wash away my sin. Create in me a clean heart. Do not cast me from Your presence. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation. Amen.
Psalm 91 — When You Need Protection
🙏 Prayer
Lord, I dwell in Your shelter — the Most High is my refuge. I trust You. Deliver me from every trap and every disease. Cover me with Your feathers. Let Your faithfulness be my shield. Your angels are guarding me. Nothing will harm me because I have made You my dwelling. Amen.
Psalm 139 — When You Feel Unknown or Unseen
🙏 Prayer
Lord, You have searched me and known me completely — every thought, every word, every moment of my day. I cannot go anywhere You are not already there. I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Search me again, Lord. Know my heart. Lead me in the everlasting way. Amen.
