Prayer Before Surgery and Medical Procedures

Specific prayers for before and after surgery — for wisdom in doctors' hands, protection during procedures, and the walk

"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you."Isaiah 41:10

God Is in the Operating Room

Facing surgery is frightening. But the same God who knows the number of hairs on your head is present in the operating room, in the hands of the surgeon, and in every detail of your recovery. You are not going into surgery alone.

A Prayer the Night Before Surgery

🙏 Prayer

Lord, tomorrow I go into surgery and I am afraid. I give You that fear honestly — I will not pretend it isn't there. But I choose to trust You with my body, with the surgeon's hands, with every decision made in that room. You are there already. You are Jehovah Rapha — the God who heals. Let this procedure go well. Let recovery be swift. And let me come through it knowing more deeply that You were with me. Amen.

A Prayer for the Medical Team

🙏 Prayer

Lord, I pray for the surgeon, the anaesthetist, the nurses, and every medical professional involved in my care. Give them exceptional skill, clear minds, steady hands, and wisdom for every unexpected moment. Use them as instruments of Your healing. Amen.

A Prayer During Recovery

"He restores my soul."Psalm 23:3

🙏 Prayer

Lord, recovery is harder and slower than I expected. Give me patience with my body, gratitude for every small improvement, and the faith to believe I am on my way to restoration. Thank You for bringing me through. Amen.
