God Is Not Threatened by Your Doubt
The most honest prayer in the entire Bible may be Mark 9:24: 'I believe; help my unbelief.' A man who wanted to believe but couldn't quite get there — and Jesus healed his son anyway. Doubt mixed with desire is enough to work with.
Thomas doubted the resurrection and Jesus appeared specifically for him (John 20:27). God does not abandon doubters. He shows up for them.
A Prayer in Doubt
🙏 Prayer
Lord, I am not sure what I believe right now. I have questions I cannot answer and doubts I cannot shake. But I am still here — still talking to You even when I'm not sure You're listening. If You are real, meet me in this. I don't need my questions answered right now. I just need to know You are there. Show me. Amen.
Intellectual Doubt vs Faith Crisis
There is a difference between intellectual questions about faith (which are healthy and worth exploring) and a faith crisis driven by pain, disappointment, or burnout. Both need prayer — but they may need different kinds of support alongside it.
If your doubt comes from deep pain or a sense of abandonment by God, that is worth exploring with a trusted pastor or counsellor as well.
"The Lord is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."Psalm 34:18
