"Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?"Psalm 85:6
When the Fire Has Dimmed
Spiritual dryness is not a sign of rejection — it is one of the most common experiences in the Christian life. The Psalmists describe it, the mystics wrote about it, and almost every long-term believer goes through it at least once. The presence of dryness does not mean God has left. It often means He is calling you deeper.
A Prayer for Personal Revival
🙏 Prayer
Lord, I confess that I have grown dry. What was once alive feels routine. I come to church, I say the words, but something is missing — and I know what it is. It is You. Not religion. You. Come and revive me again. Blow on the embers of what once burned in me. I don't want to go through the motions any longer. Restore the joy of my salvation (Psalm 51:12). Amen.
The Conditions for Revival
"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray... then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."2 Chronicles 7:14
- Honest confession — God revives those who acknowledge their need
- Returning to first love — do the things you did at first (Revelation 2:5)
- Consistent time in the Word — not for knowledge but for encounter
- Surrendering what has taken God's place — whatever it is
- Asking persistently and refusing to settle for spiritual mediocrity
