"As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord."Joshua 24:15
Declaring God Over Your Home
The most powerful thing a believer can do for their family is declare God's lordship over it. Not as a superstition, but as a covenant statement — choosing, as Joshua did, to orient the entire household around God's purposes.
This prayer guide is for families under strain, families marked by conflict, and families who simply want more of God's presence in their daily life together.
Daily Prayer for Your Family
🙏 Prayer
Father, I bring my family before Your throne. I declare that this home belongs to You — every room, every relationship, every conversation that happens within these walls. Where there is conflict, bring peace. Where there is distance, bring closeness. Where there has been hurt, bring healing. Teach us to love each other the way You love us — patiently, honestly, generously, and without keeping score. Be Lord of this household. Amen.
When Family Members Don't Believe
Not every family is united in faith, and that creates its own kind of longing. If you are the only believer in your household, your prayer life is even more significant — you are standing in the gap for people who are not yet standing there themselves.
"The unbelieving husband has been sanctified through his wife, and the unbelieving wife has been sanctified through her believing husband."1 Corinthians 7:14
A Prayer for Peace Over Conflict
🙏 Prayer
Lord, the tension in our home is real and I am tired of it. I ask You to interrupt the cycle — to replace criticism with curiosity, anger with empathy, and distance with genuine desire to understand each other. Do what only You can do. Unite us around what matters. Amen.
