Understanding Spiritual Warfare
The Bible is explicit that there is an invisible battle happening around every believer. The enemy is real, his strategies are real, and the authority of the believer in Christ is real. Ignorance of spiritual warfare does not protect you from it — understanding it and standing in your authority does.
Spiritual warfare is not about fear — it is about knowing who you are in Christ and praying accordingly.
The Armour of God — Ephesians 6
- Belt of Truth — Walk in honesty and biblical truth daily
- Breastplate of Righteousness — Live in right standing with God
- Gospel of Peace on your feet — Stand firm in the good news
- Shield of Faith — Extinguish every lie with what you know to be true
- Helmet of Salvation — Guard your mind with the knowledge of your saved identity
- Sword of the Spirit — Use Scripture to counter every attack
A Spiritual Warfare Prayer
🙏 Prayer
Lord, I put on the full armour of God today. I declare that I am covered by the blood of Jesus. I take authority, in Jesus' name, over every assignment of the enemy against my mind, my family, my home, and my calling. I pull down every stronghold. I renounce every lie I have believed. I stand firm in the truth that greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Amen.
Important Warning
Spiritual warfare prayer is effective when it flows from a life of integrity, relationship with God, and biblical grounding. The sons of Sceva (Acts 19:13–16) tried to invoke spiritual authority they did not have — with disastrous results. Know who you are in Christ first.
